About Me
My name is Sydney Durrah and I am the Video Coordinator at Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Originally from Easton, Pennsylvania, I did my undergrad at the University of Maryland were I served as a student manager for the women’s basketball team during all four of my years there.
Since I was a freshman at Maryland, I have been drawn to and ultimately excelled in the branding side of the program with a focus on branding on the social network sites. I started the Instagram page for Coach Brenda Frese in my freshman year, creating close to all of the graphics in that first year. As I progressed in the program, I got away from the process to focus in other areas.
Once I got my job at Florida International, I found myself once again branding a program. For the past year and a half, I have been creating all the graphics and mailing material for the program. Doing this has made me realize that my passion and heart are in branding. Being a video coordinator is just a bonus because I get to stay close to basketball while still being able to dabble in branding the program.
The game of basketball has been my greatest teacher in life. It has built me up just to break me down. It has shown me love and hate. But at the end of the day, the game has grown me into the woman I am today and the only way I feel that I can thank the game is by working as hard as I can in every opproutunity that the game gives me.
Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy my portfolio.
